We stayed at the
Alamo Inn in July. Keith was a great host. The accommodations were
perfect for what we needed. The location could not be better for
birding the lower RGV. This was one of my best ever birding trips
and I owe a lot of the success to Keith.

I just came back from a weekend of birding at the Texas Tropics Nature
Festival and stayed at the Alamo Inn. I can not tell you how much I
enjoyed my stay there. Keith, the owner, is an outstanding innkeeper
and does just about anything he can do to make your stay enjoyable. And
if you enjoy birds and birdwatching, you have come to the right
place...Keith operates a well-stocked bird store right in the Inn. I
highly recommend this establishment.

Jul 23, 2010| Without a doubt, the best experience me and my girlfriend have ever had with travel accommodations. Just to put things in perspective, we have been to many 4 and 5 star hotels/inns/cottages all over the world (Singapore, Australia, Hawaii, in country). But Alamo Inn had such a rich, peaceful atmosphere that made our stay absolutely wonderful. We reserved four nights in the Edinburgh Suite, much to the delight of my beloved. She just couldn't explore enough things in our room!!! She was explaining to me details about all the antiques and decor that adorned our cozy room. The facilities were humble, and totally perfect! Keith and his wife are such warm, inviting people, and we were also charmed to have shared a meal or two with the resident Artist, Grover. Such a talented and colorful character. For this experience, I would have payed any reasonable amount of money, but even the rates were a complete bargain given everything that this fine establishment has to offer. I will ... More » |
